Our client, a well-established O&G Operator seeking an experienced Senior Drilling Supervisor to join their Wells Team. This role will require some onshore work in Aberdeen office for prep work for the P&A project prior to mobilising offshore. When offshore, this role is on a 3/3 rotation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs and manages the activities of contractors and service providers during offshore well operations and ensures programmes are executed safely and efficiently, in full compliance with corporate policies, standards, procedures and guidelines and relevant regulatory requirements
- Acts as the focal point for day-to-day communication and reporting between the offshore site and onshore operations teams. Ensures all reporting requirements are met in relation to daily operations, Well Examination Scheme, etc
- Takes a lead role in technical/operational problem-solving and decision-making processes, identifies changes to programmes, risk assesses changes and obtains change approvals, etc
- Monitors contractor activities, materials movements, etc. and ensures contractors and service providers meet performance expectation/deliver on KPIs relating to e.g. HSE, cost effective use of services and equipment offshore
- Attends rig/platform management meetings to ensure appropriate representation in relation to drilling, completion and workover activities
- Responsible for the capture of lessons learned and appropriate close out of issues, liaising with contractor and onshore teams as appropriate
- Demonstrates HSE leadership at all times, actively supports rig/installation safety programmes, supports HSE inspections/visits, etc
- Ensures offshore and onshore teams inter-face effectively
- Contributes to End of Well Drilling and Completion Reports
- Provides technical support to offshore management during offshore emergencies/training activities in relation to drilling/well control incidents
- The job holder is expected to be flexible and undertake additional duties commensurate with the overall responsibilities of the job, and that are within their competence, when required
Offshore Witness Points
- POOH after flow check: DSV on Drillfloor until bit inside casing or the first 10 stands
- Prior to cement job: DSV to attend the TBT
- Mixing/pumping Cement : DSV at cement uni
- Displacing cement: DSV on Drillfloor
- Pressure testing casing: DSV at cement unit
- LOT/FIT: DSV at cement unit or pump unit
- Landing BOP, XMT: DSV at ROV room or on Drillfloor
- Well Control:
- DSV to be notified asap and go to Drillfloor and confirm shut in pressures etc and prepare for well kill
- DSV at Drillfloor while circulating out an influx
- Lost circulation
- DSV to be notified asap and go to Drillfloor and prepare plan for regain returns
- Hole problems (stuck, pack off etc): DSV to be notified asap and go to Drillfloor and take appropriate actions
- Verification of the well status vs the handover document
- Attending barrier verification in general such as
- Riser joints pressure test
- Connector test
- Inflow testing
- DST string pressure test
- Testing of surface set-up prior to DST test
- Completion string pressure test
- XMT (for dry XMT; witness assembly of tree cap) pressure test
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience working in P&A (Plug and abandonment) projects in UKCS
- Considerable experience in a Senior Drilling Operations role and of jack-up and semi-submersible operations.
- Experience of leading well operations/engineering teams – onshore and offshore
- Experience of running complex subsea completions and trees
- Fully certified by a recognized Well Control Authority for example IWCF, WELLCAP
- Must hold offshore medical, survival and MIST certification.
