Cammach are currently recruiting for a Well Intervention Superintendent to join a major Oil & Gas Operator in Aberdeen on a contract basis. Agency Worker / PAYE.

ROLE

Within technically challenging areas, with budgetary and time constraints, the job holder will play an important role in optimising well operations and ensuring that objectives are met. The job holder is considered central to the operational phase & must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Superintendent plays a key role as a member of the Chain of Command:

  • Ensures a formal communication path is established between base and site.
  • Ensure critical operational decisions are management according to the CoC.
  • Leads site-based team to ensure prevention and control of well control incidents and major risks related to intervention activities
  • Leads operational planning and execution with regards to good practices and optimised procedures during intervention operations
  • Ensures site-based teams including Contractor comply with Company Referential and company Procedures
  • Ensures application of management of change process
  • Interfaces with Field Operations to ensure delivery of and compliance with SIMOPs Procedures

The Superintendent shall:

  • Develop a culture within well site personnel including Contractor in terms of well control preparedness, management of major risks and HSE related matters
  • Manage equipment and associated logistics, in close coordination with the Well Intervention Supervisor (WIS), Material Coordinator and the QAQC inspector
  • Implement a Drilling & Wells Improvement Process with continuous improvement objective to optimise operational duration and cost
  • Act as the operational focal point for Contractor, drive excellence in safety and operational performance
  • Act as the operational focal point for onshore SIMOPS interfaces

Project specific objectives:

  • Prepare and evaluate responses to intervention and associated services portion of the Well Decommissioning Project
  • Follow & contribute to vessel intake including OVID audit & OneTech vessel intake assessment.
  • Contribute to development of final intervention equipment list
  • Coordinate with logistics and Rig Contractor for vessel mobilisation and demobilisation
  • Assist in development of HSE Bridging Document & SIMOPS procedure with methods department
  • Assist with construction of BOCP “light” documents
  • Lead campaign performance monitoring, set and track contractor KPIs

General Duties:

  • Review, input & supervise implementation of operations programmes
  • Control the activity of contractors, supervisors and service providers
  • Optimise operations in relation with engineering, geology and reservoir entities but also with field ops
  • Optimise intervention equipment in collaboration with vessel contractor ensuring vessel mobilisation & port calls are strategically planned for equipment mobilisation
  • Analyse failures or problems and recommend changes in programme, anticipate potential problems and plan alternative strategies
  • Review and authorise work instructions, focal point for Management of Change
  • Control daily and final reporting of operations
  • Ensure the respect of safety and environmental rules, support companies CFR ambitions, proactively seek fuel/CO2e saving opportunities
  • Contribute to the improvement of skills and the know-how, provide coaching develop REX where required
  • Recruit offshore team, evaluate job holders & train job holders when required

Daily

  • Review the Daily Operation Reports and ensure accuracy and comprehension
  • Review Daily safety observations or events
  • Lead morning conference calls with offshore team
  • Daily meet with the vessel contractor manager
  • Organise and coordinate mobilistaion of equipment and personnel
  • Liaise with Logistic for supplies
  • Liaise with service providers for Personnel and Equipment requirements and movements
  • Liaise with Production on daily meeting for SIMOPS coordination
  • Review operational costs
  • Assist Onshore Engineers to capture, collate and record lessons learned
  • Ensure well operation progress is in compliance with the intervention program
  • Provide an updated operational look ahead

Monthly / Weekly

  • Ensure a Monthly HSE Meeting offshore is organized and participate to the meeting
  • Perform regular visits to the vessel, particularly in port
  • Track vessel contractor KPIs
  • Review and assist the preparation of SQM as per QAQC Dept. planning

When Required

  • Participate in Risk Assessments, CTA, HAZID and HAZOP’s
  • Preparation of derogations or Management of Change
  • Participate to operation reviews with HQ or management

REQUIREMENTS

  • Educated to degree level or similar and demonstrate significant ability through experience and proven achievements in subsea, completion, work-over or intervention operations with extensive experience within the oilfield.
  • Drilling and wells professional who has gained the requisite expertise through extensive continuous training, and wide operational experience in offshore operations, logistics, simultaneous operations, coupled with a significant knowledge / experience of subsea related equipment, cost control and follow-up, environmental safety, risk assessment, equipment certification and a strong knowledge of the Group policies and relevant (FP) Company Rules.
