Our client, a leading global provider of subsea and offshore solutions, specializing in the supply of advanced underwater instrumentation is currently recruiting for a Calibration Engineer. Based in Aberdeen, the role will be on a permanent (staff) basis and offers hybrid working. 

ROLE:

Calibration Engineer will join the Calibration Lab team responsible for performing precise calibration, testing, and maintenance of various underwater sensors and instruments. This role requires a strong understanding of calibration processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work with advanced technical equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform calibration and testing of a wide range of instruments. This will include the calibration of Depth sensors, Conductivity sensors, Temperature sensors and Sound Velocity sensors from equipment manufacturers such as Valeport, Tritech, Paroscientific, and Sonardyne.
  • Use of specialized calibration equipment and software to ensure instruments meet industry standards and specifications.
  • To accurately document calibration results and maintain accurate records in compliance with quality assurance protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with instruments, providing solutions and repairs as necessary.
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to improve calibration processes and methodologies.
  • Ensure the Calibration Lab is maintained in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to calibration and underwater instrumentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or a related field; with testing and maintenance of electronic instruments, preferably in the marine or subsea industry.
  • Familiarity with Tritech, Valeport and Sonardyne products is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in using calibration tools and software.
