Technical Superintendent
Our client is seeking a Technical Superintendent for a staff permanent, full time role, based in their office in Aberdeen, Monday-Friday, with travel when required.
ROLE
Responsible for the day-to-day technical aspects of the company's ships, as well as monitoring the relevant sections of the ISM system (monthly reporting etc).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Monitor vessel's maintenance and condition
·Plan and execute dry-docking and major repairs
·Ensuring that ships are maintained to international regulations and Company procedures
·Ensuring that statutory and classification surveys for all plan and equipment on fleet ships are carried out
·Investigating major machinery failures and any resulting insurance claims
·Dealing with non-conformities covering technical procedures of the SMS both ashore and afloat
·Collection of operations orders from clients
·Operation of vessels according to their contract
·Ensuring all marine shipboard safety and environmental policies are carried out in accordance with international regulations and Company procedures
·The preparation and review of ship/shore contingency plans covering emergency situations
·Management and Improvement of the Safety Management System
·Co-ordination of Emergency Preparedness
·Investigating accident reports regarding safety and insurance
·Ensure that the appropriate classification society is informed when any class affecting defect is discovered/reported on any of the vessels
REQUIREMENTS:
·Candidates should ideally be qualified as Chief Engineer however, candidates with experience onshore as well as those considering a move to ashore, may be considered.
·Full driving licence is essential.
·Experience of the survey industry would be advantageous, but not essential.
·Candidates must have Right to Work in the UK
