Commodities Trading Support Analyst

Our client is currently recruiting for a Commodities Trading Support Analyst. Based in London, the role will be on a 6-month contract basis.

ROLE

Working closely across the Trading and Accounting & Compliance teams, the role will offer support to traders in all administrative tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Trade Booking and Verification: Accurately capturing and verifying trade details and incoming invoices in relevant systems
• Reconciliations: Performing reconciliations between various systems (e.g., risk management, trading platforms) to ensure data consistency
• Issue Resolution: Investigating and resolving discrepancies, errors, or other issues related to trade processing
• Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to enhance processes, improve efficiency, and reduce operational risk
• Communication: Maintaining clear and concise communication with traders, originators, operations, market risk, and other relevant teams
• Reporting: Generating reports on positions, trade activity, P&L, and other relevant metrics

• Technical Proficiency – Familiarity with trading platforms, risk systems, and Excel/SQL.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• Systems Knowledge: Experience with trade capture systems, reconciliation tools, and reporting platforms.
• Excel & Data Tools: Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas); familiarity with SQL or Python is a plus.
• Industry Experience: Prior experience in energy trading, commodities, or financial services operations would be helpful.
