Project Engineer
Our client, an Aberdeen based manufacturing company, who have an excellent track record, and who are involved in international projects are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join them over the next 2-3 months.
This role can be PAYE or can be LTD Company and would be based in the client’s office 5 days per week. Ideally the client would be searching for clients with experience in deck equipment
ROLE
The Project Engineer is responsible for delivering assigned projects or a defined scope of work from Project Managers in the delivery of a Capex / Maintenance projects. The Project Engineer provides technical lead and commercial support to the Project where required. The candidate will be developed by the Engineering Lead (AME or WLS) over time and be given increased responsibility in line with increased demonstrable competency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key objective is to support the Engineering Lead across all projects ensuring the following:
- Project documentation, procedures, and workpacks are developed / defined in line with company / client’s procedures.
- Quality client experience (expectations are managed and met)
- Cost management of discrete project budgets
- Contract management (Delivering to the scope of the contract / service order)
- Schedule management (Maintaining a visible schedule and delivering on time)
- Stakeholder management (Structured and ad-hoc communications, in person, video conferencing and email)
REQUIREMENTS
- Good knowledge of Engineering standards, procedures, and work practices.
- Proven track record in project environment or manufacturing environment.
- Background in engineering, Hydraulic, mechanical or Electrical.
- Knowledge of formal project management methods, processes, procedures, techniques and tools - Critical Path, MS Project, different stages of planning, risk & issue assessment, requirements analysis, estimating & costing.
- Ability to present commercial and technical solutions for changes to work scopes to internal clients.
- Ability to work within a team and work across departments to achieve a common goal.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask.
- Demonstrated proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office applications, and database use and management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
- Skill and experience with small to medium scale projects.
- HNC / HND / degree level is preferred.
- Experience in project management and project engineering within an Oil and Gas or Engineering Service company is required.
- Experience with project budget control and a track record of delivering projects on-time and on-budget.
