Laboratory Chemist

Our oil and gas industry client is currently seeking a Laboratory Chemist, based within their laboratory in Aberdeen, on a temporary maternity cover contract basis - expected duration at this stage is 1 year.  You will conduct routine chemical and physical analyses by running tests required for product and application development or QC of processes or procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing local support on product selection testing for client's UK North Sea customers.
• Compiling, analysing, and interpreting results for critical testing to internal/external customers.
• Providing timely updates on progress and results to internal/external customers on technical assignments.
• Assist in the resolution of inquiries and customer concerns.
• Having an attention to detail and a high regard for laboratory technical excellence when meeting the internal/external customers’ expectations.
• Participate in risk assessments and comply with all HSE rules and regulations.
• Preparing technical reports.

REQUIREMENTS

• Have a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a lab.
• Be able to work independently at times or within a team to complete projects.
• Have good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Have good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Have an awareness of chemical hazards and general health, safety, environment and welfare considerations.
