Our client is currently recruiting for a Workshop Technician. Based in Aberdeen, the role is on a permanent (staff) basis.

ROLE

The Workshop Technician’s role is to work on the maintenance of all equipment coming into the workshop including any third-party equipment hired or being used as a resource for the company and ensure that work is carried out in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with company International’s policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assesses technical and personal risk during repair and maintenance process.
  • Ensure that all equipment used in support of company operations is serviceable, fit-for-purpose, compliant with client specifications and is correctly certified.
  • Follow all necessary operating procedures, guidelines and complete the specific equipment checklist.
  • Take direction from the Workshop Supervisor in terms of work activities to be carried out on each individual job.
  • Ensure workplace and external areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • Assist in the third-party release of the equipment.
  • Driving company forklifts and vehicles.
  • Deliveries and collections as required.
  • Packing and unpacking of equipment.
  • Follow all necessary operating procedures and guidelines.
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner both on and off the job.
  • Carry out any other duties as reasonably instructed by the Workshop Supervisor or Delegate

REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Forklift B2 licence
  • Have had technical trade training recognised by industry
  • Understanding of the HSE requirements in the Offshore Industry

Experience:

  • Working knowledge of equipment, or equivalent
  • Understanding of the HSE requirements in the Oil and Gas Industry
  • High degree of technical execution experience, including hydraulics, pumping, light plant and yard equipment.
  • Able to understand technical drawings and schematics.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word (Basic)
  • Basic numeracy and literacy

  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Valid Forklift certificate
