Our client is currently recruiting for a Spare Parts Data Specialist. Located in Portlethen, Aberdeenshire, the role will be on a 3 month contract and offers a hybrid working arrangement.

ROLE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically capable Spare Parts Data Specialist to support spare-part management across tender and project phases within the Oil & Gas sector. This role is key to ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and availability of spare-part information used by engineering, supply chain, and project teams. The successful candidate will work across multiple internal and external stakeholders including procurement, engineering, OEMs, suppliers, while managing data within systems such as D365, Oracle, Teamcenter, and other project information platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create, maintain, and structure spare-part records, including part-number creation and classification
  • Review engineering drawings, vendor documents, and technical specifications to ensure accurate spare-part identification
  • Ensure spare-part lists and documentation are correct, complete, and aligned with Bills of Materials (BOM)
  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to validate part information and ensure technical compliance
  • Support lifecycle planning and traceability activities throughout the project
  • Manage Part Number Requests and maintain structured, traceable data in relevant systems
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to data quality, workflows, and spare-part management processes

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent technical work experience (preferred)
  • Experience in spare-part management, technical documentation, or project data environments preferably within Oil & Gas (preferred)
  • Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems such as D365, Oracle, Teamcenter, or similar platforms (preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, standards, and equipment specifications
  • Strong communication skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Comfortable working with technical data, structured workflows, and cross-functional teams
