Our client is currently seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor. The role will be on a permanent (staff) basis and is located in Aberdeen – Fully office based.

ROLE:

  • To lead and supervise the operational requirements of the business including line management of offshore personnel. The role will also provide support for the Product Line Manager in ensuring operational costs and planning is in line with the business strategy and commercial forecasts. 
  • The role will provide direct support and guidance to the Operations Team to ensure timely and effective mobilisation and de-mobilisation of equipment and personnel, satisfying customer needs and adherence to company workflow, certification, and ISO documentation requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the operational focal point overseeing the mobilisation and demobilisation of personnel and equipment.
  • Support and mentor the Operations Team across all departmental tasks.
  • Provide operational input into tender reviews, project kick-offs, and MOCs as required.
  • Identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities, proactively escalating issues to the Product Line Manager.
  • Track and report key operational KPIs, including utilisation, delivery performance, NPT, cost variance, and equipment readiness.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate effectively with maintenance and workshop teams to minimise downtime and improve mobilisation and demobilisation processes.
  • Ensure the Operations Team prepares all project documentation and certification packages prior to equipment mobilisation, and that these are maintained and updated throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure operational activities comply with internal policies, contractual obligations, and applicable industry standards.
  • Assign personnel and equipment to meet project requirements.
  • Support customer relationship management by addressing operational concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure lessons learned (JIPs, NCRs, etc.) are captured, actioned, and closed out in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Ensure pre-job and post-job meetings with offshore personnel are completed.
  • Ensure operational risk assessments, method statements, and plans are reviewed, approved, and communicated.
  • Represent Operations in internal and external project reviews, lessons learned sessions, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support the onboarding and familiarisation of new personnel, ensuring alignment with company standards and procedures.
  • Contribute to performance reviews, competency development plans, and succession planning for the Operations Team.
  • Monitor, maintain, and sign off all operational job trackers.
  • Liaise with the Accounts department to support month-end invoicing.
  • Maintain readiness for internal and external audits by ensuring documentation, processes, and records are kept up to date.
  • Participate in the on-call rota.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties consistent with the role, as required by the business.

REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge & Experience:

Must have operational experience within an offshore service company, including management of personnel, strong problem-solving abilities and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Skills:

  • Excellent prioritisation and time management skills. Able to effectively manage changing and conflicting priorities.
  • Strong learning capability – able to manage the operational requirements of the Company working in a new country/region.
  • Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other MS office programs.
  • Approachable, honest and straightforward, yet diplomatic and tactful.
  • Has a strong work ethic.
  • Professional in all aspects of work and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Have excellent attention to detail and compile accurate documentation and business correspondence.
  • Have ability to effectively present information, and respond to questions from suppliers, clients and managers.
  • Proactively work to achieve tasks and objectives in a safe, timely and efficient manner. Be an effective problem-solver.
  • Be analytical, organised, self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Be an effective intermediary between customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
  • Can adapt to changing job priorities and goals and be capable of dealing with multiple tasks within tight timeframes.
