Our client is currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join their renewables team. This is a contract role which will run until the end of Nov and will be based in London. A hybrid working arrangement is also available - 3 days office / 2 days home.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly management and statutory accounts to meet deadlines
  • Monitor the financial performance of numerous projects against budget and Forecast variances and trends and present to management
  • Preparation of management accounts, KPI reports, forecasts, budgets and strategic plans
  • Prepare and present monthly deck / memo for management on the performance of assets 
  • Seeking to continuously improve all budgeting, planning, forecasting and reporting
  • Support Head of Corporate Services on any M&A or project financing activities
  • Support the onshore long-term plan, annual budgeting and forecast processes, working to deadlines as required by Headquarters.
  • Perform or review required reconciliations (balance sheet recs, inter and intra-company recs, bank recs etc.) and maintain comprehensive and up to date spreadsheets
  • Preparation of SPV statutory accounts and contact for external auditors
  • Responsible for cash management of SPVs, including financing, foreign exchange hedging and supplier payment runs
  • Responsible for reviewing compliance files for new suppliers before Head of Corporate Services sign off 
  • Prepare or review tax calculations and postings
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses, reconciliations and answer various queries
  • Provide cover for other team members

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Significant experience in a similar role and comfortable with multi-system environments (Orcale, payment tools etc)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skills
  • Problem solving skills, ability to identify root causes and propose or implement robust solutions
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high quality and reliability of deliverables
  • ‘Right the first time’ mindset
  • Able to connect and develop a strong working relationship with various teams
  • Proactive and delivery focused, comfortable working in a dynamic, challenging environment, able to work independently (i.e. with limited guidance) and under tight timelines
  • Netsuite experience would be advantageous
