Electronic Manufacturing Technician
We are currently working with our growing international client that is adding a number of individuals to their team in Gloucester. The role of Electronic Manufacturing Technician is part of a wider recruitment campaign and provides an excellent opportunity to join their team.
Role Type: Permanent (Staff)
Hours of work: 35hrs/week.
ROLE
- You’ll be responsible for test, fault finding, and repair of various electrical and electronic systems and components. You’ll be working with the production team to help in the completion of tasks, including tool assembly, calibration, and testing with the production team comprised of assemblers, Mechanical manufacturing Technicians, and supervisors.
- You will be delivering a range of electrical and electromechanical tools. You’ll be testing electrical and electromechanical tools based on the procedure and interacting with MRP systems (SAP). You will also be responsible for maintaining and repairing the test equipment used to test tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out functional tests of PWAs and electronic assemblies
- Use job packets, routings, work orders, wire lists, quality travellers and bills of material.
- Maintain production tools and equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose product, process or program defects and repair them.
- Ensure ability to: read blueprints; identify components; perform wire preparation, stripping and crimping; perform harness repair and termination; use pertinent manual hand tools.
- Maintain skills in electronics, hydraulics and mechanical assemblies, automated machine operation and programming. * Use the guiding principles and tools of the Manufacturing System to drive continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Further education in Electrical or Electronic engineering (e.g ONC, HNC, HND, NVQ Level 2)
- Proven ability to work successfully within design constraints.
- Experience using electronic lab equipment (Multi-meter, Oscilloscope, Low Voltage Power Supplies, High Voltage Power Supply (up to 400VDC), etc) to make measurements on and for test and debugging of electromechanical assemblies
- As part of the recruitment process a practical test will be performed. The test will involve testing a standard sub-assembly following its test procedure. The practical test will be followed by a personal interview for candidate and the company to discuss additional requirements and preferences.
- Good competencies with electronic technician tools and general test equipment.
- Capable of producing deliverable items from full drawing packs with minimal additional help to relevant IPC standards.
- Good electronic technician skills. Experience in; testing, low and high voltage experience, basic soldering, crimping, and assembly.
- Basic fault finding and rectification at system and component level.
- A good team player
