Cammach are currently recruiting for a Senior Workshop Assistant for our client based in Aberdeen. The role is offered on a permanent (staff basis).

Hours of work: Mon- Fri 8-4pm (half hour lunch)

ROLE

Provides support to workshop operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes. Acts as a senior technical resource, maintaining advanced knowledge of company equipment and compliance requirements while supporting the Workshop Foreman and mentoring team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Workshop Foreman with the co-ordination of workshop activities and preparation of equipment.
  • Coordinate activity between workshop teams to ensure equipment is fit for purpose and ready on time.
  • In the absence of the Workshop Foreman, ensure comprehensive daily toolbox talks are prepared and held at the beginning of each day.
  • Liaise with Operations Team to ensure all projects fulfil customer requirements, deadlines, and quality standards.
  • Ensure all equipment assigned to jobs is fully maintained and certified in accordance with company procedures.
  • Assist with equipment load-out and packaging, ensuring containers are loaded correctly and safely.
  • Ensure all logistical paperwork (e.g. cargo summary/single lift forms) for equipment loadout and backload is completed accurately and submitted to the Operations Team in a timely manner.
  • Ensure equipment returning from a job is checked in a timely manner with all items and assets checked against the backload manifest.
  • Liaise with Operations Team to obtain dates for organising truck and container movements for the loadout and return of equipment.
  • Maintain and prepare equipment, including assembly/disassembly, paint spraying, shot blasting, and pressure testing.
  • Actively contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Travel to and support other work sites as required.
  • Participate in the workshop on-call rota.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation, and professional appearance within the workshop
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance products, services, processes, systems, and equipment.
  • Contribute cost and time-saving ideas to improve workshop operations and equipment preparation.
  • Support Workshop Foreman in creating equipment certification packs for each job.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications/Education:

  • Must be numerate and literate to Secondary School Education level
  • Be computer-literate to beginner’s level in MS Word, Excel and Outlook Email packages

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Candidates should have a mechanical or maintenance background
  • Previous supervisory experience is required
  • Previous experience in warehouse environment and/or equipment maintenance and servicing is essential
  • Understanding of valves and fittings
  • Forklift license an advantage; B2 Forklift Truck operation certification preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of using power tools essential.
