PV Site Manager
Our client, an oil and gas / renewables company, is currently recruiting for PV (Photovoltaic) Site Managers in various locations, England, UK.
ROLE
The successful candidates will ensure that the PV plant is built with the highest standards of HSE, within budget and schedule, and with the expected level of performance. Specific accountabilities for:
- Project control / Management of project schedule, costs & quality for the PV plant.
- Compliance with Company’s corporate standards, procedures and guidelines during construction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports the HSE Site Advisor to ensure the EPC and ICP Contractors’ compliance with all the site HSE rules and regulations on the field, on daily basis and at every stage of construction.
- Participates with relevant engineering teams (including Owner Engineer) to the reviews of critical PV design drawings and engineering deliverables from the EPC contractor to ensure that technical aspects of construction adhere to plans, specifications and accepted relevant engineering principles, and prioritizes critical areas requiring further analysis.
- Monitors PV construction activities and progress in terms of schedule, quality, costs, and risks. Coordinates with the EPC and the ICP contractor, and equipment vendors to ensure adherence to and compliance with contract terms and delivery of contractual deliverables. Identifies potential deviations from the as-built design / contract terms and change orders, and coordinates with relevant internal teams and the EPC contractor on relevant mitigation measures.
- Ensures the EPC and ICP Contractors’ compliance in executing the works with the approved Method Statements/ Risk Analyses and regulations at every stage of construction.
- Is fully aware of the PV EPC Contract, the ICP Contract, PV equipment Supply Agreement and O&M Agreement and manages the stakeholders effectively in line with the contracts.
- Acts as the main point of contact for and contributes to a collaborative relationship with the PV EPC contractor site team.
- Is fully aware at any time of the PV plant construction progress, schedule and critical path.
- Acts as the first point of contact on site, whether raised by the PV EPC contractor, the ICP Contractor or Company management, for any issue requiring troubleshooting and mitigation actions.
- Reviews and approves the progress (daily, weekly and monthly) and cost reports prepared by the PV EPC Contractor and the ICP Contractor.
- Supports and reports to the Head of Execution Onshore on progress, schedule, cost control and issues for the PV plant. Prepares weekly and monthly reporting as needed.
- Participates in relationships with external stakeholders on site: Owners’ Engineer, equipment suppliers, PV EPC, ICP and O&M contractors.
- Ensures project management methodologies and tools recommended by REN/PROJ are effectively used during the PV plant construction.
- Collects, organizes and files all site project documentation, both for internal purposes and for external third-party stakeholders (in particular for farmdown activities).
- Provides the Head of Execution Onshore with formalized REX on major successes and / or issues met during project execution
REQUIREMENTS
- Masters’ Degree / Engineering Degree.
- Significant experience in the Energy/Power industry in UK as Site Management and/or Construction Management professional, including experience in at least one solar PV project of at least 50 MWp at site.
- Experience in project management and construction management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
- EPC background and experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of the UK industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and organizational capabilities with the ability to influence multi-functional teams and maintain relationships across and between organizations, understand and communicate complex technical or process issues in a timely, concise, and objective manner.
- Excellent ability to manage/direct several priorities simultaneously, analyse and independently solve a variety of difficult situations and problems using timely decision making.
- Be knowledgeable on international standards and 'best practice' in relation to construction
- Be knowledgeable on environmental legislation and good industry practice in relation to construction works
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations. Strong and visible HSE culture and leadership.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Fluent in English.
- Due to the remote location of each of the sites, the successful candidate must possess a full driving licence and have access to a car.
