Site HSE Supervisors
Our client, an oil and gas / renewables company, is currently recruiting for Site HSE Supervisors in various locations, England, UK.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Site HSE Supervisor acts as the site-level HSE focal point during construction, providing day-to-day HSE supervision and support to Site management, Principal Contractor, and subcontractors. They will:
- Implement the project HSE Plan at site and verify contractor compliance with company requirements and UK regulatory expectations (including CDM arrangements as applicable to site execution).
- Ensure the approved mobilisation/onboarding HSE requirements on site (inductions, training, PTW, RAMS, emergency arrangements) are executed and escalate gaps to the HSE Manager – EPC Onboarding.
- Conduct routine HSE inspections, interventions and verification of critical controls; maintaining an up-to-date action tracking register and supporting joint safety tours and audits.
- Support environmental and social compliance at site level (ESMP) and coordinate with relevant specialists where required.
- Promote company safety culture and stop work authority, ensuring effective communication of lessons learned and reporting of events and observations.
REQUIREMENTS
The job holder is expected to have a range of competencies and experience including:
- Extensive HSE professional experience in the energy industry and construction sector(s) of which several years should ideally be on site.
- Demonstrated experienced in site-based construction HSE supervision required.
- Technical degree or diploma (plus internationally recognised HSE degree/diploma)
- Knowledge of UK construction health and safety requirements relevant to site execution (including CDM interface expectations) and local regulations as applicable to solar installations, labour laws etc.
- Experience in the power sector would be beneficial.
- Proven autonomy, strong organisational skills, and ability to work in multi-interface teams are required.
- Strong contractor interface skills: able to challenge constructively, coach front-line supervision, and escalate effectively through the project governance chain.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct site inspections/audits, lead or support incident investigations, and produce clear written reporting and action tracking.
- Good working knowledge of safe systems of work: PTW, LOTO (where applicable), RAMS, lifting operations controls, WAH, excavations and traffic management.
- Good English language oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Team player able to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally.
- Proficient computer skills with MS office and other day-to-day work-related software applications are necessary.
- Due to the remote location of each of the sites the postholder must possess a full driving license and have access to a car
