Cammach are delighted to be supporting our client in the recruitment of a permanent Business Development Manager. Based in either Aberdeen or Scotland’s Central Belt, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities across the UK.

ROLE

Commercially strong, proactive and credible Business Development Managerto win new clients and develop new revenue streams across its core service areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, targeting and securing new business opportunities with multi-site and growth-focused organisations across existing priority sectors, including the energy sector, retail, hospitality, leisure and wider commercial environments. The role will also include a specific focus on background music services, in-store audio, branded radio, AV solutions, creative video and animation content opportunities and digital signage within hospitality, retail and leisure businesses.

RESPONSIBILITIES

New Business Development

  • Identify, research and target prospective clients across key sectors and service categories.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified new business opportunities.
  • Proactively approach decision-makers at head office level, regional level and project level.
  • Generate appointments, discovery meetings, presentations and proposal opportunities with prospective clients.
  • Lead commercially effective sales conversations that uncover client needs and align services to those needs.
  • Develop opportunities across standalone and integrated propositions, including music, background audio, in-store radio, digital signage, AV systems, video and animation.
  • Focus particularly on multi-site operators, growth brands and businesses with repeat or scalable requirements across the UK.
  • Manage tender, proposal and RFP opportunities where relevant.
  • Track activity, conversion, pipeline value and forecast accuracy through the CRM and internal reporting systems.

Sector Development

  • Build strong knowledge of target sectors, especially retail, hospitality, leisure and customer-facing multi-site businesses.
  • Develop a clear point of view on how music, audio, creative content and AV solutions improve customer experience, staff engagement and brand consistency.
  • Identify trends, buying triggers and growth opportunities in background music, branded audio, digital signage and customer experience technologies.
  • Share sector insight internally to help shape campaigns, propositions and go-to-market activity.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal specialists across music and audio, AV, video, animation, operations and marketing to shape solutions for prospective clients.
  • Ensure all proposed solutions are commercially sound, operationally deliverable and aligned to client objectives.
  • Feed market insight, client feedback and competitor intelligence back into the business.
  • Support the creation of relevant case-study, campaign and thought-leadership content with the marketing team.

Handover to Delivery and Account Teams

  • Ensure that every successful new business win is handed over in a clear, professional and fully documented way.
  • Introduce the client to the relevant account or delivery contacts at the right stage.
  • Document scope, commercials, contacts, timelines, expectations and critical success factors accurately.
  • Support a smooth transition from sale to onboarding, protecting both client experience and internal delivery quality.

Commercial Discipline and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of pipeline, meetings, proposals and commercial status in the company CRM and reporting systems.
  • Produce regular sales updates and forecasts for the leadership team.
  • Ensure all quotations, proposals, contracts and handover materials are completed to a high standard and on time.
  • Work to agreed activity, pipeline and revenue targets.

REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

  • Solid general education.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Proven success in a business-to-business new business sales role.
  • Experience selling solutions rather than commodities, ideally in one or more of the following areas: AV, digital signage, SaaS, technology, media, communications, content, workplace solutions or customer experience services.
  • Experience of building and converting a new business pipeline through self-generated activity as well as inbound opportunities.
  • Experience of selling to senior stakeholders, including directors, heads of function and commercial decision-makers.
  • Experience working across multiple internal teams to shape proposals and close business.
  • Experience using CRM systems and maintaining disciplined sales reporting.
  • Strong track record of managing longer-cycle, consultative sales processes.
  • Strong commercial instinct and the ability to identify real opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and proposal-writing skills.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • High level of IT literacy and confidence using CRM, Microsoft 365 and sales reporting tools.
  • Ability to work in a structured, target-driven environment.
  • Confidence to engage both externally with prospects and internally with specialists and senior colleagues.
  • Ability to understand client needs quickly and translate them into compelling commercial solutions.
  • Well organised, self-managing and comfortable handling multiple live opportunities.

Desirable

  • Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Formal sales training or recognised sales methodology training.
  • Experience responding to RFPs, tenders or structured procurement processes.
  • Experience selling subscription, support, maintenance or recurring-service propositions alongside project revenue.
  • Familiarity with enterprise or consultative sales methodologies such as MEDDIC or similar.
  • Experience within audio visual, digital signage, background music, in-store media, branded audio, video production or creative services.
  • Experience selling into retail, hospitality, leisure, hotels, restaurants, health and fitness or multi-site customer-facing businesses.
  • Good understanding of how music, audio, video, digital signage and AV technology can support customer experience and brand engagement.
  • Strong understanding of social media and content-led business development in a B2B environment.
  • Ability to spot cross-sell opportunities across audio, creative and AV services.
  • Existing network in hospitality, retail leisure, workplace or adjacent commercial sectors.
  • Genuine interest in brand experience, customer engagement and how audio and visual media improve physical environments.
