Our client is a leading independent energy services company, delivering engineering, wells, operations, subsea, EPCC and energy transition solutions across the full asset lifecycle. With a strong presence in the UK and internationally, they continue to support major operators and innovative energy projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an Electrical Support Engineer to join their team in Aberdeen on a staff basis.

ROLE

Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, the Electrical Support Engineer is a critical role within the onshore O&M team delivering on safe and reliable operation of equipment whilst ensuring regulatory compliance is maintained. The position is embedded within a multi-disciplined operations support team with an electrical engineering and maintenance bias supporting Duty Holder decommissioning operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure electrical related equipment is safely managed and maintained effectively and that any engineering & maintenance activities are delivered in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Health, Safety & Environmental practices.
  • Prioritise repairs and inspections as required. Record the integrity status of the electrical equipment and provide preliminary assessment of any associated risk
  • Review maintenance deferrals for planned and corrective maintenance work
  • Management of 3rd party electrical generation equipment hire and associated offshore vendor maintenance
  • Responsible for company Electrical Assurance and Verification requirements
  • Review and input into Operational Risk Assessments
  • Responsible for development and management of the asset electrical budget.
  • Input into Management of Change process and that changes to the design and maintenance of electrical equipment are appropriately documented. Occasionally manage minor modifications
  • Provide technical support to the offshore maintenance and project teams where required
  • Carry out engineering studies, and root cause investigations where required in support of delivering to an agenda of continuous improvement
  • Liaise with manufacturers on aspects of equipment trouble shooting and problem solving
  • Support the development and implementation of decommissioning plans for equipment rundown maintenance strategies to ensure safe and reliable EDC operations
  • Support the implementation of obsolescence related maintenance aligned with decommissioning project milestones
  • Support critical equipment reliability and availability reviews
  • Provide reviews into critical and operational spares ensuring critical spares are always available aligned with project milestones
  • Review decommissioning work packs, decommissioning work programmes and technical proposals provided by 3rd parties in support of work execution
  • Support the decommissioning programmes and the implementation of safe electrical procedures and practices
  • Other duties as assigned which may be reasonably expected within the scope of the role

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Electrical engineering Bachelor’s degree preferred or proven relevant offshore experience.
  • Ideally candidates should hold chartership accreditation with a recognised UK professional body and be recognised as a Chartered Engineer through the Engineering Council UK
  • Valid OGUK Medical, MIST and BOSIET is preferred

  • Proven experience of working in an Electrical support role within the Energy Industry, is essential
