Project Manager

Cammach are working with an established and growing engineering consultancy based in Aberdeen who are looking to appoint a Project Manager on a permanent (staff) basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business at an important stage of its growth.

ROLE

The successful candidate will effectively be responsible for establishing and developing a new project delivery function/division within the business, putting the structure, processes and controls in place to manage projects from the point of sale through to successful delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Taking ownership of projects/orders following handover from Sales.
• Acting as the principal interface between the client and the company’s internal teams throughout project execution.
• Establishing a clear project management process covering the journey from order through to delivery.
• Introducing appropriate procedures, documentation, reporting and project controls.
• Coordinating activities across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, testing and other areas involved in delivery.
• Managing priorities, timescales and client expectations.
• Identifying potential issues or delays early and driving actions through to resolution.
• Ensuring everyone involved understands responsibilities, deadlines and deliverables.
• Supporting the introduction and delivery of new products, where projects may not necessarily follow an established template or process.
• Helping create a scalable project delivery structure that can support the company as the business and its product portfolio continue to develop.

REQUIREMENTS

• Candidates may come from a Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, Lead Engineer, or technically focused Project Manager background, provided they have the confidence, leadership, and organisational ability to take ownership of the function.
• Strong well intervention experience would be particularly valuable, enabling the successful candidate to understand the practical application of the company’s products and engage credibly in technical discussions with both customers and the internal engineering team.
• Strong attention to detail: Naturally identifies missing information, outstanding actions and potential project issues, taking proactive steps to address them rather than waiting for problems to be highlighted.
• Process-driven and pragmatic: Able to introduce clear, sensible processes that improve project delivery, while avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy or process for its own sake.
• Strong sense of ownership: Takes responsibility for projects from initial handover through to final delivery, ensuring issues are followed through to resolution rather than assuming someone else will pick them up.
• Strong customer communication: Comfortable acting as a key interface between the company and the customer throughout project execution, managing expectations and communicating technical and project information clearly and professionally.
• Ability to coordinate across teams: Able to influence and coordinate people across different functions, even where there is no direct line-management responsibility. Confident setting expectations, driving actions and keeping teams aligned towards delivery.
• Comfortable with change and growth: Adaptable and motivated by the opportunity to help shape and develop the way the company manages projects. This is not a role where you will inherit a fully mature project management system; you will have the opportunity to build and improve processes as the business grows.
